In Day 39 of The Purpose Driven Life, Rick Warren
introduces the concept of a spiritual health assessment. He says that to
maintain our physical health, we need regular check-ups with a doctor who
can assess our vital signs—blood pressure, temperature, weight, and so on.
For our spiritual health we need to regularly check and balance the five
vital signs of a healthy Christian life:
-
Worship: You were
planned for God’s pleasure.
-
Fellowship: You
were formed for God’s family.
-
Discipleship: You
were created to become like Christ.
-
Ministry: You
were shaped for serving God.
-
Evangelism: You
were made for a mission.
The Spiritual Health Assessment and Spiritual Health
Planner measures your health at a particular point in time. It is not a tool
to see how you measure up against other people; nor is it a tool to see how
close you are to perfection. We all know we’ll never be perfect this side of
heaven.
Rather, this is a tool that will help you evaluate your
spiritual health, and give you direction for developing a plan to bring
God’s five purposes for your life into balance.
This booklet is divided into the five purposes of
Worship, Fellowship, Discipleship, Ministry, and
Evangelism.

Healing Courses

Healing
Touch Spiritual Ministry Program (HTSM) grew out of
the Healing Touch Program and offers you simple skills to do healing
ministry, prayer, hands-on healing, and anointing with oils from a Christian
perspective. This spiritual
healing/ energy healing program prepares students to apply for a
national certification in HTSM. Like the work of the early apostles and
disciples, Healing Touch Spiritual Ministry is spreading to churches,
hospitals, hospices, massage schools, and retreat centers throughout the
U.S. and is now offered in some foreign countries. The program’s unique
contribution is to frame prayer, hands-on healing and anointing with
essential oils within a Christian tradition and to teach it in churches and
spiritual settings of all denominations.
Spiritual
Healing – How Can We Recover It in Our Lives and in our Churches Today?
If we look closely at the ministry of the Early Christians
we find they continued the work that Jesus had taught them. That is, when
anyone was sick, they prayed, laid-on hands and anointed with healing oil
all who were sick in body and mind–and they were healed. Healing Touch
Spiritual Ministry starts with the laying-on of hands and has the goal of
helping churches reclaim healing as the work of the church. When we combine
this with prayer and with anointing we put the person in the best light for
healing to occur whether it is physical, mental, emotional or spiritual
healing. What exactly is happening when we extend our hands in faith to heal
others? What happens when we use essential oils on our hands as we touch one
another in faith? Are we the source of this healing?
God is the source of all healing–we are but the
instruments, and the oils enhance the healing itself .

Teachings
christianscience.com
Many Christian Scientists find that prayer consistently
results in healing…A
Christian Science teacher is a healer who is deeply convinced that anyone
who loves God can learn in some measure to heal as Christ
Jesus did. A teacher’s training, depth of understanding, and extensive
experience as a practitioner of
Christian Science healing qualifies him or her to be authorized by the
Church to teach others how to utilize the precepts of Christian Science to
heal.
Every year a teacher offers a course, generally lasting
twelve sessions, in which pupils are taught how to deepen their ability to
heal. This Primary class of instruction in Christian Science healing marks
the beginning of a deeper commitment to a lifetime of spiritual growth,
progress, and love of humanity. Also, once a year teachers invite their
students, who make up an Association of pupils, to come together to be
spiritually refreshed, receive further teaching, and share current examples
of healing.
Practitioners and teachers are
available full time to talk with and help anyone, anywhere, anytime, through
prayer. Feel free to contact a practitioner or teacher by phone, email,
Skype, text, written letter, etc., or to drop by for a visit to their
office. If you're interested, you should feel free to contact any teacher,
and not just those in your own area, to find out more about taking a class
with them, which is called "Primary
class instruction." -
Find a Christian Science teacher
You can find official listings and contact information
for the people in The
Christian Science Journal directory. People are listed at various
locations throughout the United States and around the world, but you should
feel free to contact anyone, anywhere, anytime.
The
Bible is central to the study and practice of Christian Science and its
system of healing. Through the study of the Bible, Mary
Baker Eddy found
not only inspiration and guidance, but what she believed were the spiritual
laws of health and healing that undergirded Jesus’ teachings and works. In her seminal work Science
and Health with Key to the Scriptures she writes, “The Bible has been my only authority,”
and “my only textbook,” and “contains the recipe for all healing,” and
describes it as “the chart of life” (Science and Health, pp. 126, 110, 406, 24). The Bible and Science and Health are the textbooks for self-instruction in Christian Science,
they are central to Sunday
School, and a weekly Bible
Lesson, made up of selections from these two books, is
available for individual study.
Christian Science is sometimes confused with Scientology, New
Age practices, faith healing, and Eastern religions. It has also been called
un-Christian or labeled a cult. Actually, Christian Science is none of the
above. The inspiration it offers runs deeper than positive thinking. It is
deeply Christian. Christian Science teaches that it’s never God's will for
anyone to suffer, be sick, or die. Instead, it shows how God is entirely good, and therefore His will for each
of us is only health and life. To see how Christian Scientists relate to other
faiths and backgrounds, refer to the ecumenical
and interfaith dialogue community on this site for blogs and discussions. Still have questions?

Ornish Spectrum –
Prevention Proven
Program
- For more than 30 years, Dr. Dean Ornish has
directed a series of scientific research studies showing, for the first
time, that the progression of even severe coronary heart disease can often
be reversed by making comprehensive lifestyle changes. These include a very
low-fat diet including predominantly fruits, vegetables, whole grains,
legumes, and soy products in their natural, unrefined forms; moderate
exercise such as walking; various stress management techniques including
yoga-based stretching, breathing, meditation, and imagery; and enhanced love
and social support, which may include support groups.
These studies also documented that other chronic
diseases may be reversible simply by making comprehensive lifestyle changes.
These findings are giving millions of people worldwide new hope and new
choices, options that are more caring and compassionate that are also more
cost effective and competent.
Participants learn about the clinically
proven and scientifically validated, Dean Ornish Program for Reversing
Heart Disease, through its trained and compassionate staff.
Although Medicare is not currently reimbursing the Ornish Spectrum

Homeopathic
Treatments and Remedies for Bioterrorism
homeopathyusa.org

Bioterrorism and Homeopathy.pdf
publication for
Homeopathic Treatments and Remedies for disease and biological warfare.
At this historic juncture, when the danger of biological
attack is clear and omnipresent, the exemplary record of homeopathy in
treating epidemic diseases gives the American Institute of Homeopathy both
opportunity and obligation to acquaint not only our own patients, but also
the medical community and the public at large with a valuable additional
service of which they may well be unaware.
These practical measures may safely be taken to combat, both
preventively, in advance of an actual attack, and once such an attack is in
progress. The information and advice we offer will hopefully provide a
useful antidote to the climate of fear and uncertainty that is mainly what
terror is about.
We have no intention of recommending homeopathic medicines
as a substitute for or alternative to conventional prophylaxis with suitable
vaccines or treatment with antibiotics and other medications as required. We
simply offer these gentler methods of proven safety
and effectiveness under the following special and limited
circumstances:
-
when an actual attack is suspected or imminent, and
the known risk of conventional vaccines may outweigh the uncertain risk
of possible exposure, or no effective vaccine is
available;
-
shortly after an attack, for persons already
exposed or at high risk of exposure who are as yet asymptomatic, or for
early or incipient cases of disease, for whom conventional treatment is
not yet available or has proven injurious in the past;
-
for more advanced or desperate cases, when
conventional treatment has failed or caused serious adverse reactions
that make it impossible to continue with it, or as an adjunct to such
treatment;
-
for individuals with known sensitivity to or
intolerance of conventional vaccines or medications, or both, or who
refuse to take them for any reason; and
-
for individuals suffering major or minor adverse
reactions to conventional vaccines.
...One further problem with relying on conventional vaccines for prophylaxis
is the process of weaponization, which often involves deliberate alteration
of the microbial genome to render the vaccine less protective against it.
Because the suitability of homeopathic medicines is based on the total
symptom-picture of the patient rather than the antigenicity of the causative
organism, they should be equally effective under these conditions.

Essential Oils Journals
www.ijca.net
The International Journal of Clinical Aromatherapy was
launched in 2004 in response to the demands of practitioners working with
essential oils in healthcare and related professions. These therapists often use
a range of application methods, styles and doses that may differ from the more
traditional styles such as aromatherapy massage. Healthcare professionals also
require a source of evidence based information in order to successfully
integrate clinical aromatherapy within orthodox practice.
The IJCA meets these needs by presenting solid
practitioner-orientated and evidence-based information in a professional format.
Unlike any other aromatherapy
journal currently available, each issue has a specific theme, with all articles
therein contributing valuable information concerning the chosen topic. Two
issues are published per year. All articles are peer reviewed and referenced where
possible. Members of the editorial board are all highly experienced in the
essential oil field.

Integrative Health Review is dedicated to
gathering and disseminating the latest health related information. Given the
overwhelming number of sources on key topics in the health arena available
both online and in print, finding the latest information on a specific
subject can be time consuming and difficult. Integrative Health Review's
goal is to serve as an easy, accessible resource for individuals from all
age groups, backgrounds and ethnicities interested in living healthier
lives.
The National University System Center for Integrative Health is
committed to improving the quality of health and wellness care in the United
States by providing education to individuals about integrative health and to
helping people lead healthier lives.
Integrative medicine is an approach to healthcare that blends
conventional medicine with complementary, evidence-based treatments and
therapies. It is used widely in the United States, yet there are few
regionally accredited institutions committed to the initial degree
preparation and continuing professional education and training of healthcare
professionals and practitioners in this field. This is the knowledge gap
that the National University System Center for Integrative Health will fill.
